  • Every research now has its own painted icon

All 99 researches (the shared upgrades on every faction, the faction specials and the new faction trees) carry a painted icon in their faction's palette instead of a shared placeholder.

  • Every shop item now has its own painted icon

The new items share a parchment-and-brass look so the shop reads as one counter.

  • Buy Gold, Buy Wood and the Scroll of Protection have new painted icons

They now match the rest of the shop.

Features

Abilities

  • Rain of Stars now has its own visual — gold stars rain onto a purple-lit ground

The Starcaller's Rain of Stars was casting without any visual. It now shows a continuous fall of gold star-flares over the target area, with a purple rune circle and ground glow marking where the stars strike.

Menu

  • The campaign is in development

Work on the single-player campaign is well underway. It is not part of this update, and more will be shown when it is ready.

Multiplayer

  • Four multiplayer-only shop items for playing with a teammate

Skip the Rotation lets your buildings send the team's next wave; Double Down spawns every teammate's buildings together for one wave (both need Rotate Per Wave). Trade Winds sends gold to a teammate; Lend Strike hands them your unspent Rescue Strike. Choosing a teammate opens a small picker, or goes straight through when there is only one.

UI

  • Three new team scrolls in the shop: Haste, Mending and Warding

Each scroll buffs every unit on your team at once: Haste speeds them up, Mending heals them over a few seconds, Warding gives each a ward that turns aside the next hostile spell. They share the Scroll of Protection rule: an ally buying the same scroll refreshes the timer rather than stacking.

  • Battle Standard: a team buff that also reaches units spawned during it

Raise it just before a wave and the wave marches out already under the standard.

  • Saboteur's Fuse delays the enemy wave; Tax Collector taxes their income

Both hit every enemy team (all of them in a three-way match) and both are announced: the victim sees the delay on their wave clock and the tax on their income readout, and the purchase is posted to chat.

  • Stock items: Rescue Strike Charge, Castle Repair Kit and Forced March Drum

These do not use a cooldown. You hold a small stock of each, one is spent per purchase, and a charge returns on a timer. The icon shows how many you hold and when the next one arrives. Stock survives a reconnect.

  • Buy Stardust: trade gold for a single stardust on a long cooldown

A slow, expensive way to reach a stardust unit when the match has not handed you one.

  • Each faction now sells its own team scroll

Exemplaris keep the Scroll of Protection. Grovewardens sell Mending, Warclans the Battle Standard, Arcanists Warding and Nightspun Haste. Three new scrolls: the Graveborn Bone Tithe (your attacks heal you), the Ironoath Ember Plate (melee attackers take burning damage back) and the Voidwrought Glut (extra max health that fades with the scroll).

  • Multiplayer shop items stay visible and grey out when you have no teammate

The tooltip says what is missing (a second player on your team, or the Rotate Per Wave spawn mode), and the slot lights up the moment a teammate joins.

  • A refused click now says why: not enough gold, on cooldown, cannot build there

A short line appears above the bottom console whenever a build, research or shop click is refused, naming the missing resource, the remaining cooldown, the out-of-stock timer, or the missing teammate.

  • Click a formation chip to pick it up, click again to drop it

In the formation panel you no longer have to hold the mouse button to move a unit chip or a rank. Click one and it follows your pointer, then click a row to drop it. Right-click puts it back. Dragging still works.

  • Full gamepad support in battle

Play a whole battle on an Xbox-style controller. The left stick pans the camera, the right stick moves a pointer, and the right trigger clicks. Hold Y with the left stick to pivot the camera, hold the left trigger for a build wheel, and press A to move between the bottom panels. The pause menu, rescue strike confirm, formations panel, tower slots, minimap and toggle column all work from the pad, and the game switches back to mouse the moment you touch it.

  • The active build tab now stands out

The selected tab above the build bar is drawn as a white plate with black text, so it is clear whether you are on Build, Special, Shop or Research.

Bug Fixes

Abilities

  • Rain of Stars sits flush on the ground instead of floating above it

The effect was spawning about 30 cm above the terrain (at the height of the enemies it targets); it is now grounded to the walkable surface.

Menu

  • The frame-rate cap now defaults to 60 FPS instead of Unlimited

A fresh install no longer renders as fast as the graphics card allows, which kept the GPU at full load (and the fans loud) even in the menus. The cap is still yours to change under Options → Graphics → Max FPS; players who already saved a setting keep it.

UI

  • The teammate picker uses the game's font and black-and-gold buttons

Each teammate's row is tinted with their player colour.

  • Refused builds now also report missing food or stardust

Placing, quick-building, upgrading and researching all name food and stardust shortfalls, and a full build zone says so instead of doing nothing.

  • Team shop items now work with a bot teammate

Skip the Rotation, Double Down and Trade Winds count a bot on your team as a teammate. Lend Strike still needs a human, since a bot on a human team never fires a strike.
