Patch Notes — 30 August 2026
Updated Aug 30, 2026
Highlights
- Unit spawners now stand as their units on stone slabs in the build yard
- The Muster Ground — your next wave stands as ghosts at the army spawn point
- Armies now arrive at the enemy in formation — rear ranks hold their depth
- New Formation Panel — arrange your army's ranks, order and alignment
- Hosts can choose a Long or Short battlefield for Regular, Ultimate and Draft
New Content
- Earthquake now splinters the ground with dust and tumbling rock
The Earthquake channel now cracks the earth in a spreading web, throws up chunks of stone that bounce and settle, and kicks a low ring of dust — replacing the old placeholder burst.
- Spawner buildings are now named after the units they field
"Garrison" is now "Footman", "Grand Garrison" is "Footman ×2", and so on across every faction — what you build is what you read. Buildings that roll random units (the Tinker workshops, the Living Seam) keep their own names.
- Ironoath and Nightspun spawner tooltips now carry their units' full details
The newest factions' spawner tooltips were thinner than the older factions' — they now describe the unit's abilities and role with the same depth, and spawners named after their unit no longer repeat the name in the subtitle.
- The cavalry spawners' front-line toggle is retired
Six spawners (Knight, Paladin, Vampire Lord, Dreadlord, Death Knight, Lance Rider) carried a command-card button that pulled their riders into the infantry line. Row seating is now part of the formation system — any spawner can be re-seated into any row — with the full formation panel coming in an upcoming update.
Features
AI
- Armies now arrive at the enemy in formation — rear ranks hold their depth
Waves used to converge into a clump at the destination; now each rank settles its spawn spacing short of the front, so cavalry-first stays cavalry-first all the way to contact.
Buildings
- Unit spawners now stand as their units on stone slabs in the build yard
Every unit-producing building (and its upgrade chain) now shows the actual unit(s) it fields — real model, real scale, your colours — idle on a stone slab, facing the battlefield. Towers, castles and utility buildings keep their architecture. Upgrading a spawner visibly changes the figures.
Menu
- Hosts can choose a Long or Short battlefield for Regular, Ultimate and Draft
A new Map Length option in the Create Server menu picks between the full-length Single Lane battlefield and its shorter variant. Modes that play on their own arena (Poker, Sandbox, Arena, Survival, Raid) are unaffected.
UI
- The Muster Ground — your next wave stands as ghosts at the army spawn point
A ghost army at your team's spawn point now shows exactly what the next wave will field, standing in its real formation and updating live as you build, sell, upgrade or re-seat a spawner. Each teammate's units glow their colour; in rotation matches it shows whoever spawns next, and on multi-lane maps each lane musters at its own point.
- New Formation Panel — arrange your army's ranks, order and alignment
Press F (or the new bottom-left button) to open the Formation Panel: drag your spawners' chips between ranks to re-seat them, reorder within a rank, drag rank tabs or use ▲▼ to change the marching order, and set each rank's left/center/ right alignment. A live preview shows exactly how the next wave will stand, and presets (including your own saved ones) apply a full arrangement in one click.

Bug Fixes
Buildings
- Broodgraft's Clotworms now fight for the player who grafted them
An infested enemy that died used to burst into Clotworms for its own side, handing the enemy a free army. The brood now belongs to the Broodgraft's owner — even when the Broodgraft itself was destroyed before its host died.
Multiplayer
- Arrows and projectiles fly smoothly again for players joined to a host
Projectiles on joined players' screens were stepping across the battlefield instead of flying — they now travel in a smooth, continuous motion. The host was never affected.
- Poker betting no longer cycles forever when everyone checks with an ante on
With antes enabled, a betting round where everyone checked could never end — the turn orbited the table until someone raised. Checking around now reveals the next card as intended.
UI
- The quick-build toggle now remembers your choice between matches
- Upgrade tooltips now describe the unit you're upgrading to
Hovering an upgrade shows the target unit's full story — role, strengths and abilities — the same detail its own building tooltip carries, on top of the upgrade's costs and stats.
